Smartsheet is a web-based platform that helps project managers and teams plan, manage and track work. It streamlines processes for developing plans, assigning resources, tracking progress, managing budgets, and analysing workloads.

Access instructions

Membership costs and trial period:

  • A Smartsheet membership is purchased on a per-person basis and costs £216 (as of September 2025).
  • New users may receive a trial period of up to three months before they become liable for the membership subscription.
  • Your membership will renew every year in July for the full amount.
  • To cancel or avoid renewal, written notice must be given 30 days notice prior to the July renewal date.

To subscribe:

  • Seek appropriate departmental financial approval for the annual subscription cost.
  • Submit a request to IT Support including the approved work order. IT Services will use this to cross-charge the subscription cost to your department.
  • Access to the application is via your University Google account.
